In 2019, choreographer Frederick Grave creates his unique show Fear and Greed (produced by DLD - Daniel Léveillé Danse) at Usine C as part of Festival TransAmériques. A solo where dance meets performance, featuring a character in a quest to find transcendence and ritual.
Philippe Brault signs the music for the show, performed live in trio format, with Philippe on bass backed by veteran musicians Nicolas Basque on guitar (Plants and Animals) and José Major on drums (Pierre Lapointe, Jimmy Hunt). The result is a music infused with post-rock influences, where tireless repetition, pushed by desperation and determination, dislocates and breaks apart. A fallible machine, stubbornly human.
With this EP, Philippe Brault gives a new life to the music while keeping its multidisciplinary roots, as each song is heightened by a looping digital artwork created by talented artist Marc-André Labelle.
